About the Library...
Bishop Vayalil Library is a public library established by the Diocese of Palai as part of its social commitment, on 15th August 1985 on the occasion of the Golden jubilee of Bishop Sebastian Vayalil the first bishop of the Diocese of Palai. The library functioned at St Thomas Press building upto May 2022 and now shifted to a separate building at Alphonsian Pastoral Institute, Arunapuram on the banks of river Meenachil.
The library has collection of more than 15,000 books which comprises of books in Malayalam and English literature, general knowledge, encyclopaedias, career oriented books, philosophy, psychology, religion, Christian theology, social sciences, history, etc.
The founding patron of the library is H.E. Mar Joseph Pallickaparampil and now our patron is H.E. Mar Joseph Kallarangatt. Rev. Fr. Joseph Tharappel is the director of the library.
